FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASETREBUCHET COMMUNICATIONS 9TH ANNUAL MINNESOTA TILE FESTIVAL MELISSA@TREBUCHETCOM.COM This fall, the annual Minnesota Tile Festival is going big. More tile! More artists! More Swedish meatballs! In Minnesota, we love a good festival. And we’re awfully fond of Scandinavian food. Enter the 9th annual Minnesota Tile Festival, hosted by the historic American Swedish Institute. It’s part arts festival, part trade show and a whole lot of fun! Meet more than 40 of the most talented American handmade tile and mosaic artists in the country as they convene in Minneapolis to showcase and sell their one-of-a-kind wares. You can “make and take” your own piece of handmade tile or mosaic art, tour the American Swedish Institute and their famous tiled stoves and eat as many meatballs as your heart desires. Sponsored by the Handmade Tile Association, the American Swedish Institute and Spaces Magazine, the 2010 Minnesota Tile Festival is not only a coming-together of the tile and mosaic artist communities, it’s a great way for the whole family to experience art and history like they’ve never done so before. Talk to the tile artists about the inspiration behind their work. Learn how to spice up your next home improvement project with handmade tile (it’s more affordable than you think!). Purchase one-of-a-kind pieces. And bring the kids! They’ll love the hands-on projects and Swedish treats. Challenge them to find all 11 tiled stoves! The Handmade Tile Association, founded in 1999, is a diverse group of independent members and volunteers dedicated to serving tile-related fields in the community and beyond. It exists as a resource to nurture and inspire each member’s unique talents and creativity and works to improve excellence and innovation in design. The Turnblad Mansion, built in 1904 and home to the American Swedish Institute has been a proud host and partner of the Minnesota Tile Festival for going on 9 years. In addition to the amazing tiled stoves, which incited the partnership in the first place, the Institute provides the perfect culture-rich backdrop to the Tile Festival. Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 18th 2010 from 10 am – 5 pm and bring your family and friends! The American Swedish Institute is located at 2600 Park Avenue South in Minneapolis. Tickets are available at the event or online at www.handmadetileassociation.org.
